I did that, and then Okular could not print the pdf but Document-Viewer could. This is not a solution for me though, I don't wanna use pdf at all.
out of curiosity, went the printing faster that way?

Well, some page-by-page attempts to print directly to printer from FF worked but ALL attempts to print the whole page failed. The printer would annunciate "Printing Document" for a very long time and then the file would just vanish from the joblist. Printing the whole page first to a pdf file ended up printing, quite slow, but the job completed. Maybe it's the document, I used Mozilla Composter to do it with, tiny url dot com y5wnndu6
