Maybe OT, but urgent - Strange man pages
If i do man tar , i get follwing strange output. As you can see, the probs grows to the end of the page. Some word can i read with a lot of good will. I rebooted the box, but probs are the same. If i do man tar again and again the failures/words are ever the same. Goes my harddrive down ? This is a man page was installed initially a year ago while setting up that box. It looks like that one file has become corrupted. Do you have this problem with other long man pages? Try "man bash". You might also want to consider running memtest86 for a while, to see if your system's getting flaky. -- Alan Hadsell If brute force doesn't work, you aren't using enough.
