What do Novell and openSUSE have to do with it? Legally, SUSE/Novell/any company in europe can not have anything to do with Packman. Only universities are allowed to deal with these patent-encumbered stuff.

Jos, Have you ever bothered to look at the list of repositories available to be activated in the Software Management part dealing with Repositories in YaST2? No? Then go ahead and look. If you don't see packman as one of the repositories which can be activated then let me know which version of openSUSE you are using - if you are using openSUSE that is. (If you were trying to state the above as a private message to me so as not to publicly admit what everyone knows to be the case (that packman is a repo shown for activation in openSUSE - but which "Legally, SUSE/Novell/any company in europe can not have anything to do with Packman." - then you shouldn't have sent your reply to this public list.
