A Email notification on commit would be the first step to help here, IMO.

hmm ... so contributing to a project that you use already isnt your job.
Correct. I have 1777 packages installed on my currect workstation. Let it be 500 packages that I really use. So according to you, my obligation would be to contribute to all of that packages? If I find a bug, I should not report it but fix *any* bug I find. In YaST? In vim, in Mozilla, in Openoffice, in Latex, in Mplayer? Of course, sometimes I do, if if the developer is busy, the bug affects my work heavy or some other reason. But it's not my job, it's voluntary. If my bug doesn't get fixed, it's my bad luck. Same here: If nobody of the build service developer like the idea, and nobody doesn't implement it, it's my problem. I didn't say that anybody should/must implement it in spare time.
