One *huge* difference: v4.0 has now fully Open-Source Additions, which should be shipped with openSUSE. Previously Guest Additions were not shipped with openSUSE, because they were 95% Open-Source with 5% proprietary code mixed.
hm which additions do you mean ?, virtualbox-ose-guest-kmp-*, xorg-x11-driver-virtualbox-ose and (if I remember correctly also ) virtualbox-ose-guest-tools are already on liveCD ...
Some things were proprietary: -Installers for Guest Additions (windows + RPM SPECs) (openSUSE project re-created new RPM SPECs for openSUSE guest, but not for other guests) -Shared Folders for Windows Guests were proprietary, now they OSS -openSUSE project never shipped Guest Additions for Windows Guests So now you can take the whole binary "GuestAdditions.iso" and ship it with openSUSE distro. It should be 100% GPL now. Legal test is still recommended in any case. -- -Alexey Eromenko "Technologov" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-packaging+help@opensuse.org
