Hi! I guess that this is not quite the appropriate list, but the only SuSE-list I'm subscribed to right now. Perhaps someone can give me a hint... I was trying to install Typo3 (WCMS) and therefor ImageMagick, GDLib and Freetype. After having some problems it seems as if I have smashed the apache webserver... BUT the only errormessage I get is while booting a plain "failed". Can I get further information on what is wrong somewhere in my system? I'd really like to fix this. I already tried to uninstall and then reinstall Apache, to no extend. I reinstalled manually from the sources(config, make, make install) as well as with the package manager... I do not really want to reinstall the entire system ;| Cheers and thanxalot, Kiko ----- It's not a bug, it's a feature. christoph starkmann mailto:kiko@nfq.de http://www.fh-augsburg.de/~kiko ICQ: 100601600 -----
Kiko, Can you see if there is anything at the bottom of your /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log? (This is where it is on my system, you may have it in a different location if you set the PREFIX when compiling from source.) Also, as root, try "/etc/init.d/httpd start" to see if any error messages are written to your console. (Maybe you are doing this already...) Also send the output from "/usr/local/apache/bin/httpd -l". This will list the modules installed with Apache. Thanks, josh
