Still having trouble with my GeForce2 MX400 PCI video board. Here are the symptoms. I try a full install of Suse 7.2 (also tried my old version of RedHat 6.1) and I get a message at boot that the video board is recognized and it seems to get everything right. The first install screen comes up and I choose the full install. A little sub window comes up showing the kernal loading and then black screen, nothing at all. I am getting a signal to the monitor because the green light stays on and the yellow blinking never occurs. I have waited up to 15 minutes, thinking that it's just working, but screen is still black. I also can't seem to press any keys that get me to something resembling a prompt. Why is this happening and is there something I can do to fix the problem? Maybe something in the BIOS. I have tried every list I can find and help site, but can't find any answers. Thanks in advance Andy _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I've had simular problems installing SuSE 7.1 with a rather rare VGA card. What worked for me was simply switch to another console (i.e. <Ctrl>+<F2>) to get a prompt. Seemed that X could not be installed, but the installation could be finished in text-mode and I took it from there to get Xfree working with my videocard.

Can't help you with the GeForce, sorry. Haven't you got any installation-support? Let us know how you worked it out. Remco -- | Linux Kernel 2.2.19 | SuSE 7.1 | KDE 2.2.1 | Pronto! 2.2.6 | OpenPGP public key E7DCED61 Registered Linux user #209275 Registered Linux machine #97202

Hi, I had a similar experience when installing SuSE 7.2 from the DVD. The workaround which worked for me was to install from the boot disk, initially, and then continue the installation from the DVD. I have an AGP GeForce2 MX400 card; I cannot really say that the card was the cause of the issue. I hope this works for you too. Best regards, Gary http://linuxplay.freeyellow.com Lion Queen wrote:
