Hi, Of the topic alittle but.... I've found that lucky that most hardware support can be complied as a module these days anyway! But SuSE's very good anyway so most of the time they come with the latest and greatest anyway so this normally isn't needed. But it is great that today, no more recompling the kernel every time you get a new bit of hardware. I think it's good anyway, plus you can dynamically load the modules in and out of memory.... I remember when I installed Linux for the first time everything was compiled into the kernel which was a problem because I first installed Linux on a 486 and needd to update the kernel.... hehe try compling a Linux Kernel on one of those....
