That's a great answer and reminds me of when Jos pointed out that the word 'Linux' doesn't get a mention on the Ubuntu website.

Though having said that, I'm never keen to disparage other distros, for a bunch of reasons that I won't ramble on about here. I usually prefer to focus on our positives without using comparison.

How about adding something like 'openSUSE Gives Back' with a comment about contributing upstream?

I think we could use that next to 'More than a Product'

In a way the actual giving-back stuff tends to get a bit muddled up with general 'community' so a separate section in the 'more details' might be worthwhile. Possibly those sections could do with a little organizing, I'll try to take a look tomorrow if I get my work done.

Generally the elevator peaches got many peoples attention and basically gives the skeleton structure any ambassador need for a speach about openSUSE, another great tool we must streghten the more we can. Yup, we do. Can be done by blogging about it, for example :D I've scheduled a blog about this already. Feel free to mail the ambassador list with a reminder on the info we have or take other initiatives.

Actually, that's in the 2nd and 3rd elevator pitches. For those new to linux, it's not really relevant - we shouldn't bother them with the infighting/competition. But the 2nd and 3rd level (ppl who know linux and ppl who already contribute) should certainly be told about that. But again, if it's not in there clear enough, fix it, as I did have it in mind when writing.

I checked the elevator pitches. Some great improvements, thanks! Esp the 'key points' are awesome :D

But when I tried to say them in 30 seconds, I discovered they are way too long. I should've tested them the first time I wrote them, sorry!!!

I made new ones on top, which are really about 30-40 seconds. Very difficult to make a 30 sec openSUSE description but that is what they were supposed to be...

Should we remove the long ones to clean up the page?

In fact remove the previous one. We made a new version with a team (serge, yaloki, myself) Jos offers Beer and more join. Now he's owes 4 beers. Awesome payment method.

If we're at a booth, at the end of the newbie section, you can add: *You can bring your laptop with you and we'll help you install (dual boot or mono boot) openSUSE.* Of course if before you had a chance to demonstrate openSUSE (KDE or Gnome). At least, it's something I do here in Greece.
