What do you folks think?
I'm all for embracing social media. Do we have anyone who's into creating Facebook apps?
Generally speaking, in terms of effectiveness, I think this is a "nice to have" rather than a "must have," though -- as we approach 11.1 we need to be thinking of the most effective ways to spread the word.
Don't know if we need the app - alternatively I think the group moderator could message everyone in the group. Generally however I do think we need to figure out how to get beyond preaching to the choir - getting on slashdot or such won't expose us to new people. Thinking of ways of leveraging Facebook, Youtube and such potentially could help us reach people who don't already know everything about GNU/Linux - if we could reach some new computer savvy people that would be even better. ... but alas, in the case of 11.1 I feel we need to worry more about damage control than promotion, since it's far beneath the standards you'd usually expect from openSUSE :-( -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
