Upcoming release/Qt6 Support

So there is no release date, as of yet for the next release of LXQt, but it looks like we're going to run into the same issue that the KDE team does. In so far as We're going to need to keep the Qt5 versions around, for leap, but have Qt6 from upstream for Tumbleweed. How do we want to approach this? Rename the packages that can't be co-installed to -qt5 and -qt6 variants? That's what I've done so far in X11:LXQt:qt6, but this isn't really a call I want to make on my own.

LXQt 1.3.0 is now packaged, and has been submitted up to X11:LXQt, pending forwarding to openSUSE:Factory

Qt6 builds of lxqt components

I have created the subproject X11:LXQt:Qt6 which is building the Qt6 versions of lxqt, as they come available. These are *very* wip upstream, and things are likely to be broken. They are also not currently co-installable with the standard Qt5 versions of lxqt, so install at your own risk. https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/X11:LXQt:Qt6

Problem with Network Widget

Hi, I see a problem with the network widget on current TW: Right-click on the network symbol to select a new network. The widndow opens, after 2 secondes it flickers 2-3 times and closes again. No time to select a network!. Hitting 'N' keeps the windows open in most, but not in all cases. Anyone else sees this issue? Cheers Axel

LXQt 1.2.0

In the next couple of days or maybe weeks it's planned to release LXQt 1.2.0. The exact date depends on when people have time. If it is happening during a week I will try to start packaging it immediately. If others want to join maybe we should coordinate who updates which package. In any case I'm glad that we are more people now, so that someone can spot if I make a mistake or can help testing. Further Communications channels for lxqt

The admins have gotten the various chat platforms setup for lxqt discussion, for those of us that use such. Matrix: #lxqt:opensuse.org IRC: #opensuse-lxqt Discord: lxqt channel on the openSUSE discord. All three are bridged, so joining any one of them connects you to all of them.

LXQt Branding Package

Just so I make sure it gets posted up here to the ML. https://github.com/sfalken/lxqt-branding-openSUSE That's the beginning of a lxqt-branding package for LXQt-openSUSE. It includes Michaels themes that he developed a few years back, but never added into the repositories. To play around with it as it sits, since I've not bothered packaging it yet, you would just grab it from github, and do: sudo cp -R etc/ / sudo cp -R usr/ / obviously, that's only on a fresh system/fresh user, to have any effect, as this only affects the *default* configurations, any existing user configurations in ~/.config/ will override this. The current theme that is showing up in sddm is just a generic one I grabbed, just to change it from the one that openSUSE ships as the base (which is also basically determined by the KDE guys, I think), so that we could differentiate LXQt from KDE.

LXQt in MicroOS/ALP

Hi, I'm curious if anyone knows what we need to fulfil to get LXQt as additional desktop into MicroOS Desktop - and later into ALP. Having LXQt in MOS would really give a very lean system - much leaner than the current Gnome or KDE. Cheers Axel
