I use NoCloud. I made isoimage by following command: genisoimage -output clouddata.iso -volid cidata -joliet -rock user-data meta-data I set it in kvm setting. However password and network are not set. A old version (openSUSE-MicroOS.x86_64-16.0.0-kvm-and-xen-Build9.4.qcow2 which made 2019-8-31) does work same procedure. After some research and troubleshooting I ran into these comments: - https://github.com/containers/libpod/issues/5316#issuecomment-590721132 - https://github.com/containers/libpod/issues/5316#issuecomment-592057783 I quickly checked the status on kernel module br_netfilter on my systems. On OpenSUSE Leap 15.1 I have this. So as it is loaded. # grep -rn br_netfilter /etc/ /etc/modprobe.d/00-system.conf:98:# Since kernel 3.18 br_netfilter is needed to pass bridged packets to /etc/modprobe.d/00-system.conf:99:# netfilter. Load br_netfilter automatically to avoid regressions in SLE12 SP2+ /etc/modprobe.d/00-system.conf:101:softdep bridge post: br_netfilter However on MicroOS-20200301 I have nothing and it is not loaded. # grep -rn br_netfilter /etc/ # As soon as I loaded the mentioned module, pod to pod networking started to work. I use virt-install to setup a KVM virtual machine and add host local paths to the VM as virtio / 9p filesystems. Here is the virt-install command to define the VM and the relevan part from user-data file. ############# virt-install --import --connect qemu:///system --name microos --ram 2048 --vcpus 1 --disk size=20,backing_store=/var/lib/libvirt/images/openSUSE-MicroOS.x86_64-ContainerHost-kvm-and-xen.qcow2,bus=virtio --disk /var/lib/libvirt/images/testing-cidata.iso,device=cdrom --os-variant=opensusetumbleweed --network bridge=virbr0,model=virtio --noautoconsole --filesystem type=mount,mode=mapped,source=/var/lib/container_volumes,target=containervolumes ############# ############# mounts: - [ containervolumes, /opt/foo/bar/volumes, 9p, "trans=virtio", "0", "0" ] ############# The first boot is successful, however after reboot the system will stuck in boot as filesystems from /etc/fstab require relevant modules exist in initrd. I see that virtio_net, virtio_blk, virtio_scsi is already included but the filesystem modules for 9p and 9pnet_virtio do not. After manually adding them to dracut.conf and running "transactional-update initrd" it works. ############## filesystems+="9p nfs" add_drivers+="9pnet_virtio" ############## ps: recovering from stuck boot is only possible by using a SPICE remote access to VM's graphical interface so one could pick the previous snapshot from Grub.
