@Mr Takashi Iwai, there's news, I have the Leap-15.4 Live system here, updated and got the same kernel as the native the Leap-15.4 system on my SSD (kernel is 5.14.21-150400-21.24.2). Rebooted several times, however could not find the 60C idle temp issue with the Live system, ONLY on SSD as described above.
If I remember correctly the Life system is ext4. The SSD install is btrfs. You may try an ext4 install on SSD.
@Mr. Takashi Iwai, checked the Live system using cat /etc/fstab. Confirmed! Live system is ext4. So, did a Leap-15.4 on ext4 install on SSD, too. Result is, the 60C idle temp issue is also present on ext4, it seems to be at least as prevalent as in the btrfs case, i. e., I could not find one case in 5 reboots, where temperatures would cease to 45C and the fan would move to level 0. To conclude investigations on that ThinkPad W530 being used so far: the Leap-15.4 ext4 Live System doesn't have it, but a Leap-15.4 on SSD - ext4 as well as btrfs - does have the 60C idle temp issue, no matter what. That's it for now, thanks for reading, Regards, M. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
