You have to consider the CR/LF in the first line ;-) -- Mit freundlichen Grüßen Matthias Müller (Benutzer #439779 im Linux-Counter http://counter.li.org) PS: Bitte senden Sie als Antwort auf meine E-Mails reine Text-Nachrichten!

Just post the URL in the standard way, URL enclosed in angled brackets: <http://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/09/05/ flat_uis_designs_are_22_per_cent_slower_official/> And then convince Thunderbird developers to support it. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.2 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)

Yes, don't know how that happened. It was a straight cut and paste from the vivaldi address line -- opensuse:tumbleweed:20170904 Qt: 5.9.1 KDE Frameworks: 5.37.0 KDE Plasma: 5.10.5 kwin 5.10.5 kmail2 5.6.0 akonadiserver 5.6.0 Kernel: 4.12.9-1-default Nouveau: 1.0.15_1.2 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

I certainly take longer with "flat" until i've got used to the program's UI. I thought it was just me and my bad eyes, sometimes the shades are so faint its hard to see the separation. -- opensuse:tumbleweed:20170904 Qt: 5.9.1 KDE Frameworks: 5.37.0 KDE Plasma: 5.10.5 kwin 5.10.5 kmail2 5.6.0 akonadiserver 5.6.0 Kernel: 4.12.9-1-default Nouveau: 1.0.15_1.2 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

That link, too, is broken as it has a CR after the "/05/". -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

No, in Thunderbird is impossible that way. You have to disable word wrap. Install an addon called "Toggle Word Wrap". Then you get a menu option in "Options" to disable it. And then you can post an URL thus: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/09/05/flat_uis_designs_are_22_per_cent_slo... Of course, then long paragraphs also do not wrap. Another trick is to post the URL as a quoted text, which is suppose to not wrap:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/09/05/flat_uis_designs_are_22_per_cent_slo...
(ctrl-shift-O) Or paste the URL inside angled brackets "<>", but TH doesn't support this syntax. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.2 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)

And then you can post an URL thus: I'm on kmail. The only way i can seem to get a "wrap" that suitable to my eyes for reading is to narrow the actual composer window as the wrap setting won't go beyond 78.

I'll give a try next time.
