No, in Thunderbird is impossible that way. You have to disable word wrap. Install an addon called "Toggle Word Wrap". Then you get a menu option in "Options" to disable it. And then you can post an URL thus: I'm on kmail. The only way i can seem to get a "wrap" that suitable to my eyes for reading is to narrow the actual composer window as the wrap setting won't go beyond 78.

Of course, then long paragraphs also do not wrap.
Another trick is to post the URL as a quoted text, which is suppose to not wrap:

Or paste the URL inside angled brackets "<>", but TH doesn't support this syntax.
