I had on 3.1.x already the same problem... It is a freetype error msg. KDE3.2/qt3 is compiled against XFree 4.2, freetype2-2.0.9 and pango 1.0.4.
So just do the same I did... Return to the roots (i.e. to the old Xfree and freetype, but leave the 4.3 resmgr installed).
Then it will work without problem..
Thanks, I was afraid someone would say this. I don't like downgrading XFree86, so I'll just live with the error message at login until I encounter a more critical problem, which I didn't up to now. I searched google and there was one posting in some mailing list that in newer freetype2 versions some function names have been changed, like FT_Seek_Stream to FT_Stream_Seek, that's why the errors. It also said the new freetype2 versions contain a compatibility API, but for some reason it was not included in freetype2 for Intel based systems or so. Maybe I'll try to get my hands on the sources to fix this problem. Regards Mario
