I think if this option doesn't exist, kde won't be usable on an ARM device.
As you see it's all there. :) And if I'm not wrong smartphones use ARM and they do use full indexing, i.e. semantic search etc. as nepomuk tries to. Sothe concept of nepomuk is used on ARM and in fact is promoted as a feature.
