John AFAIK you can "reinstall" without uninstalling first as the rpm command has a freshen option which updates an existing package. There should not be any broken dependencies since kdebase3 will always exist. You may, however, wish to have this confirmed by a more experienced user than I before going ahead. Perhaps one of them will (dis)agree with me. Then again, you may decide to throw caution..... Jim
