Lee I've got all these installed but ./configure still doesn't find qt3 even if I run export or use configure options to tell it where the qt3 libraries can be found. I've installed KDE 3.2 and the qt libraries (and all my other upgrades for that matter) using synaptic from the ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/ site. One thing I note is that on this site the kdenetwork files for kde 3.2 have not yet been upated to 3.2. I never used --force to install I only use the default synaptic settings. thanks for help on this but it looks a dead end at present. John On Saturday 28 Feb 2004 03:36, BandiPat wrote:

Dear Lee Thanks for your comments.
I've just tried "export QTDIR=/usr/lib/qt3" but I still get the same error message. I've got the latest version of qt3 (3.3.0) and I always run SuSEconfig after updating any software. I've tried a number of configure options but so far they make no difference however, I agree it is probably just a matter of hitting on the right one the question is: which one?. If qt3 is installed properly, which I think it is, then shouldn't configure be able to find it by default?
Any other ideas? Regards John

John, Here is my list of qt3 files installed. Compare them to yours, installed on your 8.1 system. Also, a question comes to mind about how you installed KDE 3.2 stuff, where did you get your files and did you use --force to install anything?
