Hi After reading the latest news on news.opensuse.org [1], I'm asking myself if we might schedule some workshops to gather a bit more attention? Topics that are currently in my mind are - of course - related to our infrastructure setups. Suggestion: * schedule 30min slots (maybe recurring) * coordinate with the real admins/ developers behind a service to be at least present during the workshop * use our meet.o.o instance * use the screen sharing feature to show either a presentation or the console on our machines * walk through our infrastructure hosts/services one by one (one service per workshop) This might help to gather some people's interest. Maybe this might even be a starting point for additional ideas (like wiki documentation or best-practices docs or training material). What do you think? If the feedback is positive, I volunteer to lead the first workshop - and leave the topic to you :-) We could also collect some topics in the openSUSE wiki (somewhere in the team space maybe?). I'm game - as student ;-) (I don't think I can teach any worthwhile topic) -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.2 x86_64 at Telcontar)

Count me in. I can give short presentations about our virtualization cluster and how we create VMs. I also would like to give a short presentation about our meet.o.o and introduce the guys (SUSE trainees) behind this service.
If the feedback is positive, I volunteer to lead the first workshop - and leave the topic to you :-)

Thanks and cheers, Marco
Morning, Would these sessions be open to newer members of the community such as myself? "Intro" lectures like this sound like a great idea, with the option to go in-depth if someone finds a particular area of interest or has relevant skills. Best, Cameron R. Morning,
Would these sessions be open to newer members of the community such as myself?
Of course, the point is to introduce anyone and everyone to be able to collaborate with us on infrastructure.

I hope we are able to get some more new contributors doing some things we don't have the time to do out of this ;) LCP [Sasi] https://lcp.world/

Absolutely! This is the real reason behind ;-)

As we do not have enough members to cover the current workload, the idea is to step back from our day-to-day "jobs" as heroes and use this time instead to train new members. Your question already brought up the following idea in me: It might be a good exercise to run a workshop just about these "day-to-day" jobs (sharing screen while actively working on something). This should already give you a good impression of what we normally do - and how we do it exactly. :-) With kind regards, Lars
Lars, That makes sense--it seems from the wiki and team pages that there are a handful of very busy people holding up the entire project! I'll be at Saturday's meeting, but might be a bit late or sleepy as I'm in GMT-8 (US Pacific) at present. Cameron R. Cumberland 柯智明 只要努力,就能成功 With hard work, success is possible.
