Hi *, GHC 8.2.1 is in the works. I prepared openSUSE binary distributions in devel:languages:haskell:bootstrap. Currently, I am working on ghc in home:ptrommler:branches:devel:langugaes:haskell:compiler and I expect to be done sometime today. I will then submit to devel:languages:haskell:compiler and to devel:languages:haskell:lts:next for Peter and other intrepid users to check out the new compiler. We will have new support for arm7l and registerised (faster) support through LLVM for aarch64. I dropped support for s390 and ppc. Best, Peter

I suppose it will take 2-3 months until Stackage creates LTS-9.0, so we're in no hurry to update our package set. It would be nice, however, to have the compiler available in
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/devel:languages:haskell:lts:next/ghc
..., because that is the first release to ship with Cabal 2.x and it's going to be interesting to see what effect that'll have on our build system.
Is anyone working in an updated spec file for that version? ptrommer, maybe?
