[opensuse-factory] Installation media identification
It just so happens that I have been installing a lot lately :) I've been using mainly netinstall CD:s. I've been testing to install numerous pre release versions of 12.1 and also earlier ones to test upgrading, from 11.4 to Tumbleweed, from 11.4 to rc1, from 11.3 to rc1 and stuff. So I'm all surrounded by CD:s with and without markings, some previously marked and with later changed contents... A few times I've really wished that the _very_ first thing I see when I boot from an installation media would be like: Welcome to openSUSE installer, version xx.x At that point I would know what is going to be installed :) Vahis -- http://waxborg.servepics.com openSUSE 11.4 (x86_64) 2.6.37.6-0.7-default main host openSUSE 12.1 RC 1 (x86_64) 3.1.0-rc9-1-desktop in VirtualBox openSUSE 11.4 (i586) 3.0.6-44-desktop "Tumbleweed" in EeePC 900 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, that is also high on my wishlist. Not so much for CDs (I'm good at marking them), but I install from USB stick a lot more than from CD. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (8.3°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

OpenFATE feature has been created with id 312914. Just give your votes :) I'm pretty sure it's not going to be a hard task to make that greeter and it won't use much space on the media either. Maybe I'm installing it to the only computer around :) Vahis -- http://waxborg.servepics.com openSUSE 11.4 (x86_64) 2.6.37.6-0.7-default main host openSUSE 12.1 RC 1 (x86_64) 3.1.0-rc9-1-desktop in VirtualBox openSUSE 11.4 (i586) 3.0.6-44-desktop "Tumbleweed" in EeePC 900 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
