[opensuse-factory] Build378
Hi, I don't understand the results from openqa - build378 installs fine here, so I would lke to release it as RC1. I only need to refresh the KDE livecd, it was too large, so I removed some more packages ;( Greetings, Stephan -- Sent from openSUSE -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

OK, we need another build. the libzypp I dared to take yesterday broke all package managers including the updaters, so we can't even fix it. I need to rebuild those packages and the images ;( Greetings, Stephan -- Sent from openSUSE -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Well I sincerely hope that this time the damn thing at least will boot into LIVE mode! I am using 32-bit 11.4 oS and downloaded the Beta 1 and then a later build #350. The CDs pass the Media Check but neither boot into Live mode nor will they "boot" into the Installation option: everything simply hangs some seconds (?15) after selecting either Live mode or Installation mode from the initial menu. Rather flattering to know that the future of a distro may solely dependent on me putting in a bug report... But it is inconceivable that I am the only 32-bit user of openSUSE. I haven't seen any problems reported by other 32-bit users therefore the problem must lie with me, right? Maybe not directly with you, but any circumstances around your machine, some 'rare' chip, some exceptional combination of hardware. But without a bug report reported by you won't get your problem fixed. The attitude of 'somebody else will report it' won't help, especially when this becomes the default attitude. Nobody will report it. And the devs have probably a rather limited access to hardware and also time resources to test every iso on all available hardware. Don't be shy! Report bugs! The worst that can happen is to find out that it was really only a personal mistake. And even then, you can pose the question back if the product fulfills user needs, if the user does something else than expected. Thank you Dominique - I'll keep this in mind and after I have got my head around the instructions on how to post a bug report. BTW, I downloaded RC1 yesterday and got the same result. But this time I paid closer attention and found that an error message appears: powernow-k8: Processor cpuid 6a0 not supported. I've searched for this and found that this is a bug going back to something like 2006 but it must have been resolved because I have not had this problem until 12.1 Milestone5, Beta 1 and RC1. Also, a friend of mine tried to install 64-bit RC1 from the DVD on his laptop and the installation did not fully complete, but he didn't provide me with any details.
