[opensuse-factory] opensuse 11 alpha 3 torrent problems
Is there no one seeding the 11 alpha 3 torrents? I've had them up for over an hour and haven't gotten any data yet? Good question. I have here all three images for seeding, but only the x86_64 torrent seems to be alive: [View: main] openSUSE-11.0-Alpha3-DVD-i386-iso done 4214.4 MB Rate: 0.0 / 0.0 KB Uploaded: 0.0 MB Tracker: [Failure reason "unregistered torrent"] openSUSE-11.0-Alpha3-DVD-ppc-iso done 4254.9 MB Rate: 0.0 / 0.0 KB Uploaded: 0.0 MB Tracker: [Failure reason "unregistered torrent"] * openSUSE-11.0-Alpha3-DVD-x86_64-iso * done 4288.4 MB Rate: 6568.6 / 0.0 KB Uploaded: 863.5 MB * Bye, CzP --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Ooops, now only PPC, the one I'm most interested in is missing. I wanted to download it by torrent and also seed it from home, but probably I'll just scp it :-) Bye, CzP [View: main] openSUSE-11.0-Alpha3-DVD-i386-iso done 4214.4 MB Rate: 1839.9 / 0.0 KB Uploaded: 2197.6 MB openSUSE-11.0-Alpha3-DVD-ppc-iso done 4254.9 MB Rate: 0.0 / 0.0 KB Uploaded: 0.0 MB Tracker: [Failure reason "unregistered torrent"] * openSUSE-11.0-Alpha3-DVD-x86_64-iso * done 4288.4 MB Rate: 6556.4 / 0.0 KB Uploaded: 6356.5 MB * --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Do you really have somewhere to scp from? my torrent for ppc has managed exactly 0 chunks so far, time left "infinity" :-( Those for x86 and -64 aren't exactly screaming either, but have managed some data transfer and share ratio ~ 0.5 atm. -- Cheers Richard (MQ) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

No, and PPC seems to be kept back with a reason. It does not boot on my machines...

Yesterday evening somebody was downloading with 4.5MB/s from me alone, and all together the 100Mmbps of the machine was maxed out :-) Now there are too many users, so I seed slower... openSUSE-11.0-Alpha3-DVD-i386-iso done 4214.4 MB Rate: 2654.5 / 0.0 KB Uploaded: 106635.2 MB [ R: 25 * openSUSE-11.0-Alpha3-DVD-ppc-iso * done 4254.9 MB Rate: 0.0 / 0.0 KB Uploaded: 0.0 MB [ R: 0.00 * Tracker: [Failure reason "unregistered torrent"] openSUSE-11.0-Alpha3-DVD-x86_64-iso done 4288.4 MB Rate: 1241.9 / 0.0 KB Uploaded: 101127.5 MB [ R: 23 Bye, CzP --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I thought you were probably joking - just making sure! As you say though, PPC is very much the pauper at the feast. Factory seems rarely to be usable and even the releases seem frequently to be broken. If / when I manage to download it I'll try to wind it up on an old iMAC, and if that looks encouraging (!) possibly also on an embedded system that I have at work.

Those are generous share ratios! I'm at work, so I can't see how my home system is getting on. I know, I could ssh in, but I keep the firewall locked shut. Doesn't help seeding torrents either, but makes me feel safe(r). One day I'll put a machine in the DMZ and use for this sort of thing, then maybe open the door a little. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Those are generous share ratios! The server is on a university network... Bye, CzP

Silently? As the first ones were never announced, I doubt you can talk about replacing silently. Silently or otherwise something (the tracker?) was changed, then finally it worked. In fact, once fixed, it came through quicker than the x86-64 or especially the 32 bit images. One seeder (Peter?) was consistently providing a feed, now I am too. I hope to try it on my old iMAC tomorrow... -- Cheers Richard (MQ) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Well, it was announced to mirrors, that alpha3 is available, but it was not announced, that ppc torrent & image is replaced, at least I never got such a message. Anyway, over 600 GB of alpha3 is seeded already, and there is still a steady demand for it :-) Bye, CzP --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Got it - downloading now. I had looked last night and noticed only A2 was out. -- kai www.filesite.org || www.4thedadz.com || www.perfectreign.com remember - a turn signal is a statement, not a request --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
