The idea of having "kernel-flavor-devel" is not needing the "huge" kernel source package.
So the bug report that Rajko proposed me to do is that kernel-flavor-devel requires the kernel sources?
Yep :-)
Nope. ;) The packages are set up the way they're supposed to be, modulo bnc#437068. Prior to the existence of kernel-$flavor-devel, we had per-architecture kernel-source packages that were nearly identical. A giant waste of space on the mirrors. What I did with kernel-$flavor-devel is to take the files that were arch specific from kernel-source and put them in their own package. Then kernel-source was made noarch and only contains the patched source tree and nothing more. -Jeff -- Jeff Mahoney SUSE Labs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
