What I can't understand is why, under such circumstances, you even dare to install 11.0. You should install what is fully tested and known, ie, 10.3
For this client, I was quite sure it would be fine.........course, I'm using 11.0 RC1 with KDE3.* on my laptop, which I've been really beating up on for about 2 weeks now. I normally don't do type of install for a client, but the requirements are very minimal there. Who would have thought that Yast was all of a sudden so ignorant that it couldn't find the right driver for a well known and SUPPORTED modem in 10.1 and 10.3 and setup to run "auto" like it should?
It is frustrating indeed, but regressions do happen. You know that you touch something on the lighting of the front door and suddenly the washing machine can't use hot water. Go figure. In computers, I mean. There is always a risk with a new version. I prefer not to use them for production till a month or two have passed. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
