[08-17-09 13:05]: That doesn't help. What I need to know is:
+ before you log in, is gnome-keyring running?
when I log into root at runlevel 3, immediately six instances of gnome-keyring-daemon are started, three each for root ane <user>(pat). And <user> has *not* yet logged in.
Okay. Looks like something is going wrong with the pam module in your environment, I would say. Please file a bug and we'll continue there.
(as a first step, you can paste the output of "grep keyring /etc/pam.d/*", and then try removing the gnome-keyring-pam package)
(reformatted, will probably wrap. All lines except first begin with /etc) 11:00 wahoo:~ > grep keyring /etc/pam.d/* /etc/pam.d/common-auth:auth optional pam_gnome_keyring.so /etc/pam.d/common-auth-pc:auth optional pam_gnome_keyring.so /etc/pam.d/common-password:password optional pam_gnome_keyring.so use_authtok /etc/pam.d/common-password-pc:password optional pam_gnome_keyring.so use_authtok /etc/pam.d/common-session:session optional pam_gnome_keyring.so auto_start only_if=gdm /etc/pam.d/common-session-pc:session optional pam_gnome_keyring.so auto_start only_if=gdm /etc/pam.d/gnome-screensaver:#auth optional pam_gnome_keyring.so /etc/pam.d/gnome-screensaver:#auth optional pam_gnome_keyring.so /etc/pam.d/gnome-screensaver-smartcard:#auth optional pam_gnome_keyring.so /etc/pam.d/gnome-screensaver-smartcard:#auth optional pam_gnome_keyring.so Note: gdm is *not* active, kdm is. Looks like pam.d is not starting it. I will remove gnome-keyring-pam and (-32bit) after this mornings "zypper dup" completes and advise. Should I go ahead and file bug, including diag steps up to now? tks, -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
