I understand. However there is this file "/usr/share/sounds/login.wav" though, which is not too bad a sound for the login in my opinion. Perhaps there is some way this could be used to setup a link called desktop-login in the default sound theme [freedesktop] directory?
This file comes from gnome-audio, which should not be installed by default anymore.
Otherwise it makes little sense of having this in the startup options, when most people bothering to check these startup applications would think this is a bug.
I'm really all for a login sound as long as it's good. It's too late for 11.3 to change this, but if someone files a bug with a good sound (I'm not a big fan of the login.wav above, but it's okayish, I guess), then we'll have it for the next openSUSE version.
