I selected many xfce patterns, but still got no X server and no displaymanager. Apparently, SUSE Studio is ignoring "Recommends" (which is in itself a good thing, but then the patterns need to "Require" more stuff).
That is so. For instance, I install "something-lang". Normally, this should also automatically select "something", but most often it does not. Obviously, having the lang package (translations) without the code is useless. So I have to tick both, manually. I'm going over a list of... what, 1200 rpms? and selecting them one by one on my appliance (is that the name?). I'm now at 1000 left. And yes, selecting XFCE does not install X.
