You're speaking about yast2-packager-webpin? Please file a bugreport and suggest to drop it - and tell me the bug number, I'll help to push this forward,
I have an older bugzilla about this unfortunate misfeature: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=723648
I have a newer one (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=761075), but I'm waiting for Pascal's answer there. (And actually it could be marked as a duplicated of the bug above.) There are basically these solutions for the yast webpin search: 1) keep it as it is now if api.opensuse-community.org is back soon 2) just remove the icon from Yast control panel (once the server is back you can still start it manually via "yast2 webpin_package_search" without any other change) 3) completely remove the module (we will need to put the code back later when webpin works again, but on the other hand the yast package won't contain any dead code and it could be slightly smaller) So it depends what answer I get. (If get no feedback I'll choose the second solution.)
I don't think that dropping search capabilites is a wise move. Implementing a proper search engine would be much more appreciated.
Yes, but if it doesn't work at all it should be removed to not confuse users. -- Ladislav Slezák Appliance department / YaST Developer Lihovarská 1060/12 190 00 Prague 9 / Czech Republic tel: +420 284 028 960 lslezak@suse.com SUSE -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
