Hello all, been lurking for a few weeks so guess ought to post a brief intro. Before Christmas we converted one of our old servers to run SuSE Linux 6.3, primarily to run Squid and Apache. It works very well, the only problems I have are: * never got taper to work * named seems unbelievably slow (I was hoping it would cache DNS information for the network * Squid usage script someone gave me doesn't work Any pointers on the above most welcome! Other than that very pleased with it, hadn't used SuSE before (played with RedHat and Debian a little at Cambridge). All a learning curve, I am very interested in retiring old machines to become Internet terminals running Netscrape off a powerful server so interesting to monitor those threads. -- Glenn Cameron - King Henry VIII School __!__ Warwick Road, Coventry CV3 6AQ -----o----- Tel 024 7667 3442 (262) Fax 024 7667 7456 " " Mobile: 0771 383 9447 Web: http://www.khviii.com/
