The service in today's question is mysql, and the server is running at 3 with S20mysql in rc3.d, linked to mysql in init.d. I've had similar problems before with wireless lan scripts, which I ended up calling directly from boot.local. -----Original Message----- From: Michael Brown To: 'suse-linux-uk-schools@suse.com' Sent: 5/21/02 10:29 AM Subject: Re: [suse-linux-uk-schools] Start up On Tue, 21 May 2002, Chris Puttick wrote:
Ok, call me stupid (water off a duck's back), but under SuSE (and LSB) how does the start-up process work? More specfically, not work... Given a working script in /etc/init.d, and a Sxx link in one of the rcx.d directories, why does a service not start?
Just one of the rcx.d directories? Which one? Also, which runlevel are you actually using (probably 3 or 5)? Just checking the easy things first... Michael -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: suse-linux-uk-schools-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands, e-mail: suse-linux-uk-schools-help@suse.com
