Hi all,
I'm about to submit s3cmd from home:mludvig:s3tools to Contrib:
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=s3cmd&project=home%3Amludvi…
However I'm getting two rpmlint warnings in the Factory build:
> s3cmd.i586: W: python-naming-policy-not-applied
> /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/S3/S3.pyc
> This package doesn't respect the naming policy for python packages.
> Its name should match the regular expression ^python(-|$).
I'm not quite keen to name the package python-s3cmd since almost
everywhere else it's called just 's3cmd' (Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, even
Mac OS-X). After all it's not a "python package", instead it's a
standalone program written in python that carries its own modules in the
package. Similar to, say, fonttools or yum.
> s3cmd.i586: W: no-binary
> The package should be of the noarch architecture because it doesn't
> contain any binaries.
True, however the python modules are installed either to
/usr/lib/python2.6 or to /usr/lib64/python2.6 so the package differs
between architectures.
Are these warnings something to worry about or should I submit the
package as it is?
Thanks!
Michal

Sascha,
This could have been due to the upgrading of the Hermes system, Klaas Freitag (sorry of I misspelled) did advise on the possibilities of message loss.
Regards,
Andy

Hello Friends,
has anyone Problems with the submitsystem too?
I've made an "osc sr create home:saigkill libatlas3
openSUSE:Factory:Contrib -m "add libatlas3".
In OBS "My Projects/My Requests" is this visible:
7368 home:saigkill libatlas3 new saigkill
7376 home:saigkill necpp new saigkill
But nothing was send to opensuse-contrib.
Is anything false with hermes?

Package: libatlas3
Hi Mates,
i would like to submit the libatlas3 Package to Contrib. But i have some
RPMLint Warnings. Can anyone help me?
---Snip---
libatlas3.x86_64: W: shared-lib-without-dependency-information
/usr/lib64/libcblas.so
* That i don't know how to fix
libatlas3.x86_64: W: shlib-policy-missing-lib
Your package starts with 'lib' as part of it's name, but does not
provide any libraries. It must not be called a lib-package then. Give it
a more sensible name.
* Should i just make an Provides Tag with the LIb?
libatlas3.x86_64: W: shlib-unversioned-lib libcblas.so
libatlas3.x86_64: W: shlib-unversioned-lib libf77blas.so
libatlas3.x86_64: W: shlib-unversioned-lib libatlas.so
Your package matches the Shared Library Policy Naming Scheme but
contains an unversioned library. Therefore it is very unlikely that your
package can be installed in parallel to another version of this library
package. Consider moving unversioned parts into a runtime package.
* Must i change this? How can i change this?
libatlas3.x86_64: W: unstripped-binary-or-object /usr/lib64/libcblas.so
libatlas3.x86_64: W: unstripped-binary-or-object /usr/lib64/libatlas.so
libatlas3.x86_64: W: unstripped-binary-or-object/usr/lib64/libf77blas.so
* Should i fix this?
libatlas3-devel.x86_64: W: zero-length
/usr/include/atlas/atlas_ctrsmXover.h
libatlas3-devel.x86_64: W: zero-length
/usr/include/atlas/atlas_strsmXover.h
libatlas3-devel.x86_64: W: zero-length
/usr/include/atlas/atlas_dtrsmXover.h
libatlas3-devel.x86_64: W: zero-length
/usr/include/atlas/atlas_ztrsmXover.h
* On this Place i think, i can just remove them in %install Section. Or
is this an bad Solution?
---Snap---
Excuse my many Questions. But this is an very big Package, with 6 or
more Makefiles.
