Hello,
I've just finished work on openSUSE:11.2:Contrib. Here's the report of what
has been done:
1) 'osc copypac'ed all packages from openSUSE:Factory:Contrib (oS:F:C)
to openSUSE:11.2:Contrib (oS:11.2:C)
2) set bugowners of all packages in oS:11.2:C
3) deleted following packages from oS:11.2:Contrib because they're
also in openSUSE:11.2, which violates Contrib rules:
autotrace
CodeAnalyst
diald
gdome2
json-glib
latex2html
libunique
mairix
python-distutils-extra
python-feedparser
python-simplejson
IMHO we should consider dropping of these packages from oS:F:C.
4) deleted following packages because they did not build for 11.2:
avview
bacula
d4x
dbxml
dopi
libtorrent-rasterbar
lilypond
scarse
scala
workrave
5) Unfortunately, I was told by one of the maintainers that
he has no longer interest in maintaining his packages in Contrib,
so these were deleted from oS:11.2:C.
autossh
hugs98
iksemel
maxima
pgfouine
python-ontapi
wxMaxima
libgloox
tor
tork
qgamex
I've not removed them from oS:F:C, so if anybody is interested in
taking over the maintenance, please let me know. Otherwise, I think
they should be deleted from oS:F:C, too.
6) fix 'sourcelinked' package perl-Net-SMTP-SSL. As we don't allow
sourcelinks in Contrib, this package was converted to regular package.
Another such package is json-glib, which is in oS:F:C only - could anybody
(preferably it's maintainer) please fix it?
7) A lot of packages had incorrectly set maintainer/bugowner. Most likely
because those who accepted them forgot to set maintainer/bugwoner properly. I
fixed some of such packages (with help of opensuse-contrib ML archives), but I
definitely missed some. Please, check that you're set as bugowner of your
packages in oS:11.2:C. Thanks!
8) ATM, only me and Pavol Rusnak (prusnak) are maintainers of oS:11.2:F, which
means we are responsible for accepting fixes. Anybody willing to help is
welcome, please let us know. (I think we have to discuss maintenance policy for
oS:11.2:C in more detail - I'll post another mail soon.)
Please let me know if I missed something.
Finally, let me thank everybody who contributed to Contrib for their work! Let's
keep up the good work and make Contrib even better repo for 11.3. Thanks!
