--- Comment #1 from caulier.gilles@gmail.com --- It crash in Exiv2 shared library. update to last stable Exiv2 0.26 and problem must be fixed.
Report this problem to opensuse team to update the dependency.
I would be grateful if this matter could be sorted. Thanks John -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Is the problem fixed there maybe? We definitely won't be able to update exiv2 to 0.26 in Leap 42.2, it's not even handled by the KDE team, and it would require a recompile of all packages that use it. And not to mention that it would cause other crashes: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1051782 I'm afraid this is a WONTFIX, but we probably can provide it via KDE:Extra (it's required by the latest digikam 5.7.0 anyway). Stay tuned for that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Fully understand the WONTFIX. Didn't know about KDE:EXTRA so I may try that. Most likely I'll move to Leap 42.3 and see what happens there. Many thanks for the response. Fully understand the WONTFIX.
Just to be clear: upgrading exiv2 to 0.26 (in Leap 42.x) is a WONTFIX. It might be possible to backport the fix for your crash to 0.25 though. I'll have a look at it over the weekend (I hope I can reproduce the crash... ;-) )
Didn't know about KDE:EXTRA so I may try that.
It currently only has a newer digikam though. We have yet to add the newer exiv2... I'll probably do that later today (as mentioned it is needed for the latest digikam 5.7.0 anyway).
Most likely I'll move to Leap 42.3 and see what happens there.
Would be an option too to see whether the digikam version has any relevance. The exiv2 is the same in 42.3 though. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
