Just to be clear: upgrading exiv2 to 0.26 (in Leap 42.x) is a WONTFIX.
It might be possible to backport the fix for your crash to 0.25 though.

I'll have a look at it over the weekend (I hope I can reproduce the crash...
;-) )

It currently only has a newer digikam though. We have yet to add the newer
exiv2... I'll probably do that later today (as mentioned it is needed for the
latest digikam 5.7.0 anyway).

Would be an option too to see whether the digikam version has any relevance.
The exiv2 is the same in 42.3 though.
