[Bug 982911] New: Touchscreen gestures don't work on X when applications are open, but works on wayland fine
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=982911 Bug ID: 982911 Summary: Touchscreen gestures don't work on X when applications are open, but works on wayland fine Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: badshah400@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- It seems touchscreen gestures (including dragging from the left edge to show the dock, three finger drag to show workspace overview) don't work when these gestures are drawn over already open apps. If I do the same gesture on an empty desktop, on the other hand, it works just fine. On wayland, gestures work fine even when drawn on open apps. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Gestures specific to apps (e.g.: evince: two-finger zoom etc) work just fine when drawn over the appropriate app. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Stuff just worked - yay! This might be due to me being on 3.21.91 or xf86-input-libinput - who know. Question is - can you still reproduce on 3.20.x? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Bug is reproducible on this laptop, not on the other one, and am now unsure what logs would be useful. More of a hardware issue it would seem, but the touchscreen gestures do work when they are not drawn on apps (e.g. on empty desktop) even on the problematic laptop. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Yes I saw the note about "on top of apps", so I testet that explicitly. Have you removed all input drivers apart from libinput/xf86-libinput? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

If yes, I'd file a bug for xf86-libinput, as I doubt this is a gnome issue, since it works with wayland. I might very well be wrong though. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
