http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1143711 Bug ID: 1143711 Summary: spec-cleaner replaces pkg-config by pkgconfig Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem Assignee: tchvatal@suse.com Reporter: sbrabec@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de CC: qzhao@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- spec-cleaner replaces Requires: pkg-config by Requires: pkgconfig It is not correct for SUSE spec files. The package was renamed from pkgconfig to pkg-config in 2007 by both upstream and SUSE. The virtual symbol pkgconfig is kept only for compatibility with Fedora (Fedora did never the package rename to the new upstream name). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

We discussed it with release managers and since no other distro except for us renamed it we decided to stick with them for compat reasons. Also pkgconfig symbol is provided also by pkgconf (as we are removing pkg-config in favor of pkgconf in TW). https://github.com/openSUSE/spec-cleaner/issues/117 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
