http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=939794 Bug ID: 939794 Summary: Thinkpad X220 Docking stopped working since a few kernel updates Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 201505* Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: dmacvicar@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- I use openSUSE Tumbleweed and since a few kernel updates my Docking station stopped working. Every day, I resume my laptop and dock it. It used to just work and the display went black and the desktop showed up in the two external monitors. Since a few kernel updates, the screen goes blank and an error is displayed on the console. Some times I need to undock and dock again to see the error: Jul 29 08:05:52 piscolita kernel: ACPI: \_SB_.PCI0.SAT1.PRT1: docking Jul 29 08:05:52 piscolita kernel: ata2.00: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0xe frozen Jul 29 08:05:52 piscolita kernel: ata2.00: irq_stat 0x40000001, ACPI event Jul 29 08:05:52 piscolita kernel: ata2.00: cmd a0/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/a0 tag 4 Test Unit Ready 00 00 00 00 00 00res 51/24:03:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/a0 Emask 0x10 (ATA bus error) Jul 29 08:05:52 piscolita kernel: ata2.00: status: { DRDY ERR } Jul 29 08:05:52 piscolita kernel: ata2: hard resetting link and this: Jul 28 08:47:34 piscolita kernel: ata2.00: disabled Jul 28 08:47:34 piscolita kernel: sr 1:0:0:0: rejecting I/O to offline device Jul 28 08:47:34 piscolita kernel: sr 1:0:0:0: rejecting I/O to offline device Jul 28 08:47:34 piscolita kernel: sr 1:0:0:0: rejecting I/O to offline device Jul 28 08:47:34 piscolita kernel: ata2.00: detaching (SCSI 1:0:0:0) Jul 28 08:47:34 piscolita kernel: ACPI: \_SB_.GDCK: undocking Jul 28 08:47:34 piscolita kernel: ata2: exception Emask 0x50 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x4090800 action 0xe frozen Jul 28 08:47:34 piscolita kernel: ata2: irq_stat 0x004000c0, connection status changed Jul 28 08:47:34 piscolita kernel: ata2: SError: { HostInt PHYRdyChg 10B8B DevExch } Jul 28 08:47:34 piscolita kernel: ata2: hard resetting link Jul 28 08:47:34 piscolita kernel: ACPI: \_SB_.PCI0.SAT1.PRT1: docking Jul 28 08:47:34 piscolita kernel: ACPI: \_SB_.PCI0.SAT1.PRT1: Unable to dock!
