[Bug 1154126] New: hplip-systray does not work correctly with KDE Plasma 5.17
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1154126 Bug ID: 1154126 Summary: hplip-systray does not work correctly with KDE Plasma 5.17 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma) Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: fkrueger@mailbox.org QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Given TW20191012 with KDE Plasma 5.17 (via KDE/Frameworks5 repo) hplip-systray (hplip-3.19.6-2.1.x86_64) is always shown, although it is configured as "Hide when inactive". As a matter of fact, changing the behaviour of the system tray icon via the HP Device Manager does not have any effect at all. On top of that, the icon is frozen. Any idea? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I have exactly the same problem with Gnome 42 (using the gnome extension AppIndicator KstatusNotifier to get the system tray) with hplip-3.22.4-2.3.x86_64 (exactly the same behavior). So, I think this is neither a KDE nor a Gnome BUG. -> this should be reassigned to Component: Other, to the hplip package. Question: I am not opening another bug for this reason. Or should I ? Thanks. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

For the sake of completeness, let me just add that the bug still exists for TW20220805 with KDE Plasma 5.25.4 and hplip-3.22.4-2.3.x86_64.
I've just checked the hplip settings and it seems that the system tray icon behaves as expected. In fact, choosing "Hide when inactive" seems to work properly, at least for the KDE environment. Anyway, KDE's system tray setting does not have any effect on hplip's behaviour, but that might be on purpose. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
