MATE was in April 10 DUP Slowroll MATE 1.26.2 works fine. All panel add-on abort unexpectedly and will not reload. Only Software Update and Classic Menu are in Panel. Went back to 4/6/24 backup and locked MATE mozo caja and other parts of patterns-mate-mate. MATE does not work right but panel appears - suspect libc fix breaks MATE. Putting back broken April 13 image with broken panel. This makes Tumbleweed unusable to me as I cannot select programs or workspaces to do development with. I made this a critical problem - the other only says clock and is normal problem - this is many other parts of panel. Adding my name to this bug, looks like identical to Larry's description of the panel applets . . . . TW with MATE DE running on '12 Mac Pro, after zypper dup this morning approx 246 package upgrades. Does seem to render the DE "not usable" for basic function . . . reviving from suspend does not show e.g., "firefox" in the panel, so I can't get back to browser tabs that were open . . . that is "critical" to using the DE. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I have the same problem. See here at Github: https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-panel/issues/1433 We couldn’t solve the problem for Tumbleweed yet, but in the thread it is also said that the problem was fixed with the version of mate-panel 1.28.1. Currently version 1.28.0 is in the package sources. Greetings snydar -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

While "Advanced MATE menu" and "Sticky Notes" plugins are working, "Show Desktop", "Clock", "Window List", "Notification Area", and "Workspace Switcher" are quitting unexpectedly, each with its own error window, when logging in to MATE Desktop. Pushing the "Reload" button just produces a new error windows. Additional error window displayed: "The panel encountered a problem while loading "GvcAppletFactory::GvcApplet.". My Ubuntu, Mint, Manjaro, and Leap are all 1.26.x - they have no panel issues. Apparently Fedora 40 also has the 1.28.x panel issue with no fix at this time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1222583 https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1222583#c11 --- Comment #11 from Larry Rainey <llrainey15@gmail.com> --- I found the cure you have to have dconf-editor installed an reboot and the panels will not abort. I compared the latest fedora 40 beta with the 20 day old one that did not work and installed dconf-editor and fedora 40 worked Did the same to my Tumbleweed and panels now work. One system with KDE desktop, the other with lxde desktop. I then installed Mate desktop on both systems: the Mate error handled (or not handled?) here is still existing. And it is still cured by installing dconf-editor, as described above. Greetings Michael -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
