Yep.  Adding my name to this bug, looks like identical to Larry's description
of the panel applets . . . .  TW with MATE DE running on '12 Mac Pro, after
zypper dup this morning approx 246 package upgrades.

Does seem to render the DE "not usable" for basic function . . . reviving from
suspend does not show e.g., "firefox" in the panel, so I can't get back to
browser tabs that were open . . . that is "critical" to using the DE.
