Please look a this bug I filed : https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119091 The mysql-connector-java (version 5.1.43) as supplied by the OpenSUSE 15.0 distribution is either flawed or incompatible with Libreoffice 6. I solved the case installing the Mariadb connector from the Mariadb website.

--- Comment #4 from Pedro Monreal Gonzalez pmonrealgonzalez@suse.com --- I tried to update mysql-connector-java to version 8.0.12 but its not possible without Maven. Same thing for MariaDB Connector/J. I'm not sure why mysql is used instead of the mariadb one though.
As @Kristyna said, we do not pack Maven, and I think it will take some time. I would close this bug as wontfix for now.

I'm closing the bug since Leap 15.0 is out of scope. Please, reopen if required with a description of the problem, a reproducer and package/distro version details.
