Suspend-to-Ram doen't work too.
But the really interesting thing, I fond in messages writen during resume. See my attatchments. There are kernel-warnings, which doesn't occur in a normal boot-process.
There is something bad there, but I'm not sure whether this is the culprit. I guess it's not. Don't you see this with 3.18.x?
Now the strace-things: (allways if I open the file "channels.conf" with VLC. It contains the parameter for DVBT, terrestrial TV-Broadcasting.) kernel 3.18 working: walther@linux-z24t:~> strace -f -o /tmp/strace.out vlc
I need the content of /tmp/strace.out, not the output of vlc. (for both working and non-working cases) Also, if the outputs are so lengthy, don't paste! Use attachments instead. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

After resume and after normal boot the file is: /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 Your wrote: /dev/dvd/dvr0
Right, it was a typo. And does /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr file exist after resume or not? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Scratch it. It's -ENODEV error, which means that the device file must exist but the kernel returns as if the corresponding device doesn't exist. So, it must be the issue in the kernel inside. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Today I tried kernel 4.0.rc3x. The same problem comes up there. So I had to work with kernel 3.18.6-1.1. further on. Is there any progress in this case?
No, unfortuantely. You'd better poke the upstream by yourself, too... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thanks for your comment, but I have no idea how to do that. Can I get some help from you? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Bug ID: 94861 Summary: After resume from hibernate/sleep USB-DVBT-adapter does not work
Please send to the linux-media@vger.kernel.org mailing list.
I hope, this time I can pass the spam-filter. mailto:greg@kroah.com
These media drivers does not support hibernate/suspend/resume generally, only runtime PM. Almost all drivers will just fail when you try sleep during streaming (only few usb drivers I made are supporting it).
In order to support hibernate driver needs to stop all (USB) communication on hibernate, which means in practice stopping remote controller polling and stopping possible data stream and on resume those should be restored.
regards Antti Thanks for your answer! But in fact kernel-people did not understand my problem. kernel 3.18.x (and all other kernels) works fine for me, after resume the USB-DVBT-Stick works in the same way as he does after a normal boot. Since kernel 3.19.x this has changed, as I described above. My OS is openSUSE tumlbeweed and so filed a bug to Novell's Bugzilla (916577). It was assigned to Takashi Iwai.
Takashi Iwai asked me, to try a modified Kernel from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/tiwai:/bnc916577/standard/ (N.B. comment 20). His conclusion was " It's -ENODEV error, which means that the device file must exist but the kernel returns as if the corresponding device doesn't exist. So, it must be the issue in the kernel inside." (N.B. bug 916577) comment 18) So I put the bug on this side too. But here no one seems to understand it really. During awakening or resume (not the same?) kernel does not find the adapter anymore! And it seems not to be a media-problem, but a problem of the kernel's behavior. Maybe you can help to find the right man (or woman) for this bug???? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

4.4-rc2 has a known problem. Test with 4.4-rc4 or later (wait until it appears). And, it's still a different, irrelevant issue from this bug itself. Open another bug report if anything happens in 4.4.
Thanks!!! I should have asked You some days ago! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
