[Bug 916952] New: Missing trash icon
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=916952 Bug ID: 916952 Summary: Missing trash icon Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: All OS: openSUSE 13.2 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace Assignee: kde-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: nrickert@ameritech.net QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:35.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/35.0 Build Identifier: The default start screen for konqueror wants to show an icon file:///usr/share/icons/oxygen/48x48/status/user-trash-full.png but the file does not exist. Not a serious problem, but it does result in a "broken link" graphic on the konqueror opening page. Reproducible: Always -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

So why is konqueror not showing it?
Good question. My Konqueror is showing it... What icon theme do you have set? That icon is not included in e.g. breeze, which is the default for Plasma5 (and might get set for KDE4 as well if you run KF5 applications). But then also the other icons would be missing. Maybe your icon cache is corrupted somehow? Try to remove /var/tmp/kdecache-$USER/icon-cache.kcache Have you tried with a fresh user account? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

If I paste that link into konqueror, I get: --- There was an error loading the module Gwenview Image Viewer. The diagnostics is: Cannot load library /usr/lib64/kde4/gvpart.so: (dlopen: cannot load any more object with static TLS) --- I've tried this on a different computer, and it is fine.
I doubt that this is related either. That's about the gwenview KPart, that Konqueror tries to embed into its window for displaying the file. But the opening page doesn't use gwenview for displaying the icons. Btw, I have seen those errors recently as well (only for gvpart.so) on one of my systems (not on others). But even there, the trash icon on the opening page is displayed correctly. Also, according to the error message, this doesn't seem to be a KDE limit that's reached. But I haven't investigated that further yet. Regarding the opening page, I have no further ideas at the moment, sorry. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

It turns out that if I disable AdBlock (easy-list), and restart konqueror, then the icon shows up.
With AdBlock enabled when konqueror is started, I get the "broken" icon (not the AdBlock icon).
Right, I can reproduce that here. It doesn't happen with all auto filters though. Well, not really a bug then as it is filtered out by the AdBlock filter. Although one could argue that Konqueror should not apply the filters on its introduction page. But that should probably better be reported upstream at http://bugs.kde.org/ I think. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I'm happy with it being explained. I don't really care whether it is officially fixed.
Ok, then let's close it. As mentioned, the only possible bug I see here is that Konqueror probably shouldn't apply the AdBlock filters on the Welcome page, but that's definitely an upstream issue IMHO. I reported it upstream, let's see what happens... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
