As long as the network does not show up when running 'nm-tool' there is nothing what KNetworkManager can do about.
Does the wireless network of your neighbor show up when running 'nm-tool'?
I will try it later, when i go to home (if the wireless network is activated :-) )
Are you sure that you haven't disabled wireless (Options -> Enable/Disable Wireless) in KNetworkManager?
'Options -> Enable/Disable Wireless' do nothing for me. I mean: in its initial status, KNetworkManager interface (the popup when click in systray icon) is like wireless is disabled. But selecting 'Options -> Enable Wireless' do nothing, and the KNetworkManager interface do not show any information about the wireless interface (eth1). The interface that I believe that it would be is [1], but without the wireless network list when there is no wireless networks accesible, as it was for me in OpenSuse 10.1. In my case, the "Wireless Networks" section is missing _always_, like when you disabled wireless. IMHO, i think the more important problem here is the missing "Wireless Network" section in KNetorkManager interface, because when it finally appears it probably shows correctly the accesibles wireless networks. Anyway, y will try if wireless network is registered in the 'nm-tool' output when it is possible for me.
