In the final step I have to check the "Enable power management" button so that the "Apply" button is not greyed out. Then I uncheck the power management box again and hit apply. At this point I can watch movies on my computer without being interrupted for letting the mouse sit too long. Hope it helps. Let me know if there's any confusion. Thanks.
