--- Comment #1 from Lubos Lunak llunak@novell.com 2008-12-10 03:41:49 MST --- Where exactly and how do you do the change? I cannot see any 'Configure Desktop -> Display -> Power Control' in KDE4.

--- Comment #5 from Benjamin McCann benjamin.j.mccann@gmail.com 2008-12-11 00:18:10 MST --- I've attached screenshots that walk through the menus I'm talking about. In the final step I have to check the "Enable power management" button so that the "Apply" button is not greyed out. Then I uncheck the power management box again and hit apply. At this point I can watch movies on my computer without being interrupted for letting the mouse sit too long. Hope it helps. Let me know if there's any confusion. Thanks.

--- Comment #6 from Benjamin McCann benjamin.j.mccann@gmail.com 2009-01-14 23:51:31 MST --- I just upgraded to 11.1 and unfortunately this problem has gotten worse. I went through the steps mentioned above and rebooted to test on 11.1. My machine is now failing to go to sleep for some reason - there was a knotifier window that popped up about twice a second making a noise each time (the nonstop noise was the annoying part) and continued doing so until I moved the mouse so that the machine stopped trying to sleep.

--- Comment #7 from Benjamin McCann benjamin.j.mccann@gmail.com 2009-01-22 09:06:31 MST --- I am upping the priority on this due to the incessant chiming the machine now makes when trying to sleep.

About your tempering with priorities and severities, why do you configure a sound for "window showing" at all?
