you are running sax2 on an ia64 machine with two graphics cards right ?
Chip: 0 is -> ATI R420 JM 00:00:0 0x1002 0x4a4d PCI radeon
Chip: 1 is -> ATI R420 JM 00:00:0 0x1002 0x4a4d PCI radeon
1) the current X driver situation doesn't allow you to use multihead
the drivers are simply broken here
2) According to 1) I would suggest to start with a single head
configuration:
init 3
sax2 -c 0 -a
==> the result is an automatic /etc/X11/xorg.conf file
If you don't mind send that file
==> send the file /var/log/SaX.log
==> does X work in principal with this configuration ?
simply call "X" to find out
3) The behavior if you call sax2 from init5 with a running X-Server is
normal. If called from a console sax2 will start it's own X-Server
if called from the running X-Server sax2 will start there if the
permissions allows it, if not it will run its own server
4) Stefan could you state the current ia64 Xorg status ?
Thanks
