[Bug 325833] New: sax2 produces inaccessible dialog and runs while in init5
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=325833 Summary: sax2 produces inaccessible dialog and runs while in init5 Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 3 Platform: IA64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: SaX2 AssignedTo: ms@novell.com ReportedBy: erikj@sgi.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Third Party Developer/Partner Created an attachment (id=172885) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=172885) /var/lib/sax compressed tarball This was observed in opensuse 10.3 beta3 _unofficial_ ia64 bits. The hardware was an SGI Prism. I simply ran 'sax2 -r' and noticed two I believe possibly related events. First, I ran sax2 -r by accident before I had switched to init 3. That is, X was active and the run level was 5. The output does say access to the screen is denied but that didn't seem to stop it. After the long 'sysp' delay, sax2 brought up a window/dialog in the upper left that I can't see enough of to make out what it is. Probably the standard sax2 setup menus. I can't see the upper left 1/3 of the window or so - but that's the part with the important bits. I can see the decorative sax2 frame boxes (those little boxes that show up on each corner) is on top of the inaccessible window. What I found next was that sax2 was hanging out on virtual 8 while a gdm login screen appeared to be in service over on virtual 7. The mouse works in both virtuals. Is that supposed to be possible? PS: I tried to email a photo from my camera phone from the screen but it appears to not be transferring. I'll attach a photo if I get it. I'll attach some sax2 info pieces. hoot:~ # lspci 0001:00:01.0 Co-processor: Silicon Graphics, Inc. 4) Stefan could you state the current ia64 Xorg status ? According to our IA64 expert, the radeon driver on 10.3 is broken and is also unusable on SLES10.
